Ornithologists Rosario Balestrieri and Salvatore Urso from the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn – CRIMAC, together with Letizia Campioni from the Estación Biológica de Doñana (EBD-CSIC) in Seville, will chair the symposium:
“From coasts to oceans: New research frontiers in the behavioural ecology of seabirds”
22nd Italian Ornithological Congress
Lecce, 8–12 September 2025
The symposium will explore the latest developments in research into the behaviour and ecology of seabirds, featuring six presentations on:
- Migration and use of space
- Reproductive behaviour
- Adaptations to pollution, climate change and anthropogenic impacts
A valuable opportunity to gain a better understanding of these fascinating creatures that live between sky and sea, and to develop more effective conservation strategies.
