An invisible world: a sea of microalgae!

Microalgae are among the most important organisms on our planet; these microscopic inhabitants of the world’s oceans represent one of the most promising resources for the future!

At the CRIMAC headquarters, we will embark on a scientific journey to understand the importance of studying microalgae, the tools and methodologies that enable us to analyse them, and their incredible applications – from biotechnology to food, from cosmetics to pharmaceuticals, and from environmental remediation to the production of biomaterials. Their fascinating forms are so beautiful that they often even inspire art and design! We will also discover their survival strategies, which enable them to adapt to even the harshest environments.

And then, we’ll have fun getting our hands… in the sand! From a tiny amount of seabed sediment, we’ll see a whole world of invisible life emerge. You’ll be the one to do it, step by step, with our guidance. Are you ready to discover the biodiversity hidden beneath the surface?

If you’re passionate about scientific research and want to find out more about the mysteries of the sea and the potential of microalgae, you’ve come to the right place!
