Another award for the young people at CRIMAC!

It is now the turn of scholarship holder Ludovica De Vincenzis, who distinguished herself at the 54th Congress of the Italian Society of Marine Biology by winning one of the two prestigious awards for the best poster on fisheries biology, funded by the University of Cagliari in memory of Professor Angelo Cau.

In her poster, Ludovica presented the results of studies conducted on fish biodiversity in a deep-water area of the upper Ionian Sea. The research, based on the analysis of over 160 hours of video footage captured by ROVs, enabled the investigation of the presence and distribution of species at depths of up to 1,300 metres.

The identification of these species significantly enhances our understanding of marine biodiversity in a region that remains largely unexplored and provides valuable insights into the depth preferences of rare or elusive fish species.

Congratulations, Ludovica, on this significant achievement!
