Researcher Valentina Costa is the subject of an in-depth analysis in The Niche

We are proud to announce that researcher Valentina Costa, from the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn CRIMAC, is the subject of a in-depth analysis in the latest issue of The Niche, the journal of the prestigious British Ecological Society.

The article highlights her innovative project to monitor Posidonia seagrass beds in southern Italy. By using low-cost drones, open-source software and the direct involvement of local communities (citizen science), Valentina is blazing new trails in the conservation of our precious Blue Carbon.

This is a significant achievement that demonstrates how accessible technology and local knowledge can make a difference in the fight against climate change and in protecting Mediterranean Sea biodiversity.

Congratulations to Valentina and to the whole team on this international achievement!
