It was a pleasure to welcome to the CRIMAC Seat – Calabria Marine Centre of the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn – 37 students and 4 teachers from the first-year classes of the lower secondary school “Amendolara – Oriolo – Roseto Capo Spulico” Comprehensive School
After the initial greetings, we kicked off the morning with two short presentations: “The Amendolara’s bank – a treasure beneath the sea” and “An invisible world: exploring microalgae”.
The students then split into three groups and took turns taking part in the workshop activities:
In search of plastic
The beach and its inhabitants
Discovering marine biodiversity
The event ended with the usual “CRIMACquiz” and the prize-giving ceremony: a fun way to review what we’d learnt together, working as a team.
We are delighted to welcome you back this year and to help primary school classes discover the world of marine research.
Thanks to the teachers and students for their enthusiasm.
