It was an incredible day, full of discoveries and discussions, which allowed us to connect with the community and institutions, reflecting on the crucial role we all play in safeguarding the marine ecosystem. From the morning welcome to the testimonies of key figures from the scientific and regional spheres, we reviewed CRIMAC’s achievements and outlined ambitious future prospects, thanks in part to the valuable contribution of partner universities and research bodies. Among the most moving moments:
• An engaging live stream from Nice with the team from the Cassiopea Project (MuMa Sea Museum Milazzo, and SEA BEYOND – PRADA Group/UNESCO-IOC)!
• An unforgettable close encounter with a magnificent sea turtle Caretta caretta, ready to be released back into the wild thanks to the WWF Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Centre in Policoro!
The afternoon saw our workshops and themed tours come to life, engaging visitors of all ages in an immersive experience of the world of marine research.
