We are pleased to share the message we received from Silvia Lupato, a PhD student in Environmental and Land Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin

“Excited to spend two months of my PhD in Amendolara at the Calabria Marine Centre of the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, working on microplastics research!

As a PhD student in Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, my research focuses on developing fluorescence-based detection techniques for synthetic microfibres in wastewater. This collaboration between Politecnico di Torino and the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn is giving me valuable experience and new perspectives to extend my work to seawater samples.

I’m truly grateful to the entire team at the Calabria Marine Centre for their support, collaboration, and for the professional growth this experience is offering me!”
