At the CRIMAC – Calabria Marine Centre, part of the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dorhn, we had the pleasure of welcoming, for a day, the students of the “San Demetrio Corone” Comprehensive School, who had come to Amendolara to take part in the 9th “Gustav Mahler” International Music Competition.
Around 80 students enthusiastically took part in an afternoon packed with a variety of educational activities: presentations and interactive workshops covered important topics such as marine biodiversity, microalgae, plastic in the sea and the protection of coastal environments.
Through these activities, the students were able to enjoy these experiences, which gave them an insight into scientific research and enabled them to explore the extraordinary richness of the marine ecosystem.
This experience has shown just how much the convergence of science and music can provide an opportunity for growth, curiosity and inspiration for the younger generations.
