A European center of excellence for marine infrastructure and research
The Project
CRIMAC (the Calabrian Research Centre and Advanced Marine Infrastructures) project, initiated in 2019, is structured around three Key Objectives, divided into Operational Units, organized into four primary Work Packages. WP1 and WP2 are focused on developing the infrastructure in Amendolara, Calabria, and on expanding the research staff. Meanwhile, WP3 and WP4 drive the research activities and the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
The creation of this marine research hub in Calabria seeks to promote the role of the sea in regional development strategies, opening a valuable dialogue between researchers and local enterprises.
To fulfill its core objectives, CRIMAC project promotes the collaboration with Calabrian universities and other public and private entities, with the aim to forge strategic synergies that will enhance both human capital and regional natural resources usage, leading to increased environmental sustainability.
